Next-Generation, Highly Thermostable Xylanase Enzyme Improves Pulp Bleaching over Broader Process Conditions

Luminase™ PB-200 enzyme, a next-generation, highly thermostable xylanase, enhances the reactivity of pulp fiber to bleaching chemicals, such as chlorine dioxide, chlorine, and hydrogen peroxide. This product substantially reduces the need for bleaching chemicals and remains active over a wider range of temperature and alkalinity (pH) than previous enzymes, so it can be utilized by more mills. This fast acting enzyme requires less retention time, thus provides greater operational efficiencies for the mill. In addition, Luminase™ PB-200 enzyme is effective for most types of pulp, thereby expanding the utility and benefit to the pulp mill.
